PAINT- it flows easily, lays out evenly, and adheres very well… and with a slight (300 grit) scuff it re-coats beautifully. Kirby Paint is robust enough to accept a slight cut with gum turps to stretch it without losing any covering power. And the colors are right proper wooden boat colors, any/all of which can be custom “tuned” for gloss, brightness and color. CAP- It’s a good cotton cap. It’s adjustable, so unless your head is REAL small or ENORMOUS, it’ll fit you. They wear well; in my case I can get an entire season out of one. At the end of that season, it’s slick-grimy and pretty fierce, but for a six-panel cotton cap, it’s dependable and comfortable. And Hell’s-Bells, man….. if you wear this cap you’re advertising an historic maritime manufacturer - a decently, honestly run company still producing fine quality, custom-mixed boat paint and other goods after more than 150 years.
